Led by John Eason, a 10-minute audio play was commissioned by his Justice Lab@Watson to start conversation on friendship, race, survival, and the criminal legal system defining America today. The podcast includes a follow-up thirty-minute discussion moderated by Eric Emma with Dr. John Eason and Dr. Chloe Haimson.

In a prison-saturated Alabama town, two high school seniors, Hannah and Naomi, confront the stark inescapable reality that their future and the future of their town depend on the US prison system.

The Pact, written by Kathy Ng’25 MFA, is inspired by real- life research.
The Pact was directed by Eric Emma, produced by Brown University’s Justice Policy Lab and Chloe Haimson. It features Allison Jones '25 MFA and Lucia Aremu '26 MFA.
