Chinyere’s research explores the practices of well-resourced Black people. Specifically, she is interested in the roles wealth, education, and culture play in the development of a contemporary Black Elite, a more heterogenous and multifaceted group than in previous generations. In her dissertation project, Chinyere explores the complex set of decisions Black parents with various forms of economic, sociocultural, and political capital make in constructing a social world for their children.
